“The JoRide bicycle program meets a core deficit which increases self body awareness. A participant can learn at
their
own pace
and build on their own successes. JoRide helps build a level of confidence and enhances the
rider’s control of their own body,
and space around them. This also helps with managing anxiety levels and
gives plenty of positive feedback." - Mr. Louis Columbus, Beard Special Education Center, Chicago IL |

"Independence, self confidence, normalization! The JoRide bike for disabled individuals provides just that! The joy that is seen on the faces of those learning to “bike” is exhilarating. Never before have they been able to keep up with their siblings or peers. They have never been able to enjoy the personal thrill to push off and glide on just two wheels. This is an opportunity for celebration!
Beyond the benefit for the riders in this story is the heartwarming love of a father seeking to reach out to help his son. How many parents dream and wish for a positive change in their child’s life? Mr. Cohen creatively kept problem solving until he resolved the issues and obstacles to enable his son to ride a bike. He is an inspiration to all parents to believe in solutions and not accept limitations. May he inspire many to create the dreams that make a difference in the lives of others!" - Susan Baker Ed.D and Anita Plautz M.A., Advocacy Associates for Educational Rights |
