JoRide bicycles provide confidence and independence for children and adults with autism and Asperger’s syndrome. Our autism bicycles were created for the founder’s autistic son who had outgrown a burley or ride-behind trailer but hadn’t yet developed the balance and coordination skills to ride a two-wheel bike. Our autism bicycles were designed to help individuals with autism and Asperger’s syndrome who have previously felt left out because they couldn’t ride along with their peers. In addition, autism bicycles promote fitness, can be used in adaptive physical education classes, and can assist with occupational therapy.
At this time, JoRide has partnered with The Center for Enriched Living, NSSED, NSSRA, Autism Speaks, and many other public and private schools, including Therapeutic day programs. We currently have thousands of riders and our ranks are growing rapidly.
